General Information for Church Planters
Pray
23 Project believes that prayer is an essential part of our partnership. Churches will not be planted and pastors will not endure ministry without prayer. At 23 Project, you will have an army of men and women who are regularly praying for you and your ministry.
Fund
23 Project believes that funding is an essential part of our partnership. In the words of Jesus, it is better to give than to receive.
- $75,000 over three years
($5000 of funds to be set aside annually for a family vacation)- $30,000 per planter for year 1
- $25,000 per planter for year 2
- $20,000 per planter for year 3
Support
- Annual access to a lake house or mountain retreat in North Carolina for one week
- Coaching provided by 23 Project
- Ongoing contact and care from 23 Project leaders

An in-person, 24-hour, expenses paid, “get acquainted,” interview will be scheduled during this week with you and your spouse in Charlotte, NC.

Do I qualify as an applicant for this initiative?
A church planting applicant must have a public launch date in the USA after September 1 of the application year and before August 31, of the following year and have been approved by a reputable church planting organization (see requirements above).
May I submit the application on behalf of a fellow pastor or friend?
What a kind thought! However, there are questions the church planter will need to answer. So encourage him to apply.
What happens after I submit my application?
We will notify you that we have received your application. There is an Applicant, Candidate and Recipient phase to our process. You will receive communication from us throughout each phase.
How will I know if I am selected?
You will receive communication from 23 Project throughout the vetting process.
Will the funds be distributed to my church or directly to me?
The funds will be given to your church.
Does 23 Project expect anything from me?
There are a few things we ask of our partners. You can see these by viewing our Memorandum of Understanding.
Can you help me secure a coach?
Yes! We have a coach that we recommend and work with closely. If you choose a different coach, the funds you receive can be applied toward that cost.
Where are the retreat locations?
One is in the area of the high country in NC and one is in the area of Lake Norman, NC.
Am I required to stay at one of these locations?
No, but each location is designed to be a beautiful, restful respite!
